Rural life can be boring for two young sisters coming to the end of their school holidays. A game of Truth or Dare brings about consequences which open up a historic village mystery. A journey of deceit, questions and lies, but when confronted with the facts, would you dare to tell the truth?
Shot using 5D High Definition DSLR, a team of professionals have given up their time to work on this unpaid film in order to help raise funds for the Lane End Players. The Premier of this film and a second short film (Out of the Blue) by the LEP will be held on the 30th October, 19:30 at Lane End Village Hall. Tickets will be available soon. Black tie is optional.
A DVD featuring Truth or Dare, Out of the Blue, behind the scenes DVD extras and out takes will be available for £10 but must be pre-ordered by emailing truthordare2010@hotmail.co.uk
From Georgie:
Following the success of this night last summer, we are holding another quiz night on Friday August 20th in the Village Hall at 7.30pm.
The tickets will cost £10 per person which will include a 2-course meal. Bring-your-own drink and glasses. Teams will be ideally 8 people, with a maximum of 10. Hopefully lesser numbers than these will be happy to include others in their team.
The evening will be presided over by our expert Question-master (whose decisions may not be questioned!), David Brown.
Tickets can be obtained by ringing Catherine on 07723 005392 – there is an answerphone so please leave your name and phone no. if necessary and she will ring you back.
Please note there is a cut-off date of Mon 16th August – this is necessary for catering purposes.
Also please arrive promptly, as there is always a lot of greeting and settling-down to be done before we can start.
Hope to see you there
Georgie
From Alan:
Sophie Marshall is to hold a Masterclass in stage make-up techniques so that all you budding make-up artistes can become miracle workers and make the likes of me look 20 years younger. It’ll be an informative, fun-packed session and it takes place on Sunday 22nd August at 3.30pm in the Sycamore Room of the Village Hall. The session will probably last a couple of hours. Please come along and make Sophie’s efforts worthwhile. With the autumn show and the panto fast approaching it would be great to add some more make-up artistes to our already talented group.
Please let me know if you are planning to take part.

Reading dates: Thursday July 22nd at 8pm in LEVH & Sunday July 25th at 7.30pm in LEVH
From Kath:
I now have scripts and will be happy to give them out to anyone who wants to familiarise themselves with the play prior to the readings. It is very witty and fast-paced dialogue so I think a bit of knowledge will not be a dangerous thing in this instance. It may even help the readings to go with a swing!!
If you would like to have a look through, please email or call me and will will get a copy to you. I don’t have a huge number of copies so let me know asap if you want to see one – they will go like the proverbial hot cakes – hopefully!! And please don’t be put off thinking you may be too old/young/short/tall. This play has starred Liz Taylor & Richard Burton; Laurence Olivier & Vivien Leigh and, in more recent years, Lindsay Duncan and Alan Rickman and, of course, Kim Catterall (Sex and the City for anyone from Mars) & Matthew Macfadyen (no idea really!) in its most recent incarnation.
The Thursday reading will be a full play read through. The Sunday reading will be selected scenes only.
Any questions, please get in touch.
Kath
