Story
In 2010 the Lane End Players along with Darren Crisp and his professional crew filmed the very first LEP movie Truth or Dare
This was a project that Darren had wanted to undertake with the Lane End Players for many years and finally in 2010 was given the go ahead. A script was written titled 'Truth or Dare' and in the summer of 2010 filming began. Many of the Lane End Players were involved either as the on screen cast or in a number of different capacities behind the scenes. Darren pulled together a fantastic team comprising of professionals and amateurs alike to make this idea a reality and it really did pay off. All of the locations were in and around Lane End with houses, farm yards and even the local Post Office being offered as filming locations. Darren wanted to keep everything local from the locations to the team members and the cast. As well as many extras (most of which were members or friends of the Lane End Players) the main cast included LEP members Lianna Liew, Olivia Taylor, Bob Connor, Alan Rimmer, Amanda Brackley, Jake Everitt, Eve Berry and Kath Gill. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed being involved in this process which is a long way from performing on the Lane End stage but it was an experience the cast (especially the younger cast members) will never forget. The main film was called Truth or Dare but there was a second shorter film made which was titled "Out of the Blue" this gave other members an opportunity to work both on and off screen in this smaller project that was equally well received and just as enjoyable albeit shorter with less production. This starred LEP members Peter Rose, Alison Hartnett and Eleanor Taylor. The red carpet was literally rolled out and many of the cast and crew of both films were dressed in their very best glad rags and took to the red carpet for this enjoyable evening. Please see below for photos of the Premier. This was an enjoyable project from beginning to end, enjoyed by all and well done to Darren Crisp for bringing it all together. Watch this space though as Darren may have plans for a sequel...one day... |
